Our mission
When POPIA came into full effect in July 2021, it created a compliance obligation for every organisation in South Africa that processes personal information. For large corporates with legal teams, the adjustment was manageable. For SMEs — the backbone of the South African economy — the burden was crushing.
We built POPIA Guardian to change that. Our platform automates the 80% of compliance work that doesn't require a lawyer: data mapping, policy generation, consent capture, and DSAR handling. You focus on your business; we handle the paperwork.

Our story
POPIA Guardian started as a frustration. Our founders — a privacy attorney and a software engineer — were watching the same story play out across the businesses they worked with: POPIA was real, the Information Regulator was active, and SMEs had no affordable way to get compliant.
The options were either a R 50,000+ consulting engagement or a generic global privacy tool that didn't understand South African law, South African business culture, or even South African pricing.
So we built something better. POPIA Guardian is purpose-built for South Africa — with legal templates reviewed by SA privacy attorneys, workflows aligned to the Information Regulator's guidance, and pricing that reflects the South African market.
We are registered as NGUNI FORCE (Pty) Ltd, headquartered in Johannesburg, and deeply committed to the businesses and communities that make up the South African economy.
